Wisdom Under the Neem tree: To avoid getting drenched on one cloudy July noon I took shelter under a Neem Tree, on the ground in front of me which was by now partly filled with water and mud I saw young men from a nearby slum with no shoes and no shirts playing football with a broken plastic bucket and having a good time instead of being involved in bad habits. It struck a note in me that this could change their lifestyle if i could give them an opportunity to get involved in football and when the rain stopped I decided to do something for them. I went back to my college got one old football, gave it to them and asked them if they wanted to play such type of matches with teams from other slums. I started to visit and ask people if there are any sports events being organized for these underprivileged youth and when I found none I started one on my own. I approached a few close friends from social and media background they liked the idea and supported me whole heartedly. We planned out matches and the media broadcasted the event, and thus born was the first Jhopadpatti football tournament.

To offer impetus and opportunities for socially neglected, homeless adults and youths, male and female; living in economically backward areas to use football/soccer as a tool for social improvement and empowerment, while providing new facilities and competitions to enable these players to showcase their talents.
